New Deal Infomercials
After studying the Great Depression, FDR, and the New Deal, 11th grade American History students created 3-5 minute videos designed to "sell" their assigned agency or law to the country. Since FDR was a master communicator and salesman, he was able to "sell" the New Deal to a country in distress and make lasting changes to our government. In essence, the American History teachers placed their students on FDR's public relations machine, hoping that they would know enough about the agencies and laws to create informative videos that utilized three primary persuasive strategies: pathos, logos, and ethos.
